The Fundisa for Change Teacher Education programme received funding from the Department of Environmental Affairs for the training of 300 participants over a three-year period (2014 -2016). The accreditation of the training courses is currently spread across three Institutions of Higher Education that are partners in the Fundisa for Change programme, Rhodes University, University of Cape Town (UCT) and North-West University (NWU). Facilitatotion for the training courses was conducted by Fundisa for Change partners from the accrediting universities and teacher educators from UNISA and UKZN as well as partners from the environmental sector (Delta environmental Centre, SANBI and WESSA). Participants have been from seven provinces, Gauteng, Eastern Cape, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Western Cape, Northern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal. The total number of participants trained from September 2014 to date is 308, number made up of teachers and curriculum advisors.
